Formula (part 2)

In the previous write-up, we established that there are some basic Christian ‘formulas’ that aid believers in our becoming distinguished vessels of honour. We looked at Salvation, Sanctification and Consecration.

Today we will be discussing these in more detail.

For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.

1 Corinthians 3:9 (KJV)

The essence of Salvation (being purged and cleansed from the sin), Sanctification (the process of being purged of undesirable qualities), and Consecration (being set apart for the Master’s service) is that they serve as significant guidelines towards our perfection (the process of being excellent).

It is tremendously encouraged for us believers to be acquainted with the above-mentioned formulas.

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:1 (KJV)

Something unique that happens during Salvation is Justification, which basically means to “declare righteous”. This is God’s gracious and judicial act of declaring the previously lost and condemned soul righteous; granting complete absolution from all guilt and a full release from the penalty of sin.

As Christians, our duty to the world is to be a good model of Righteousness we have received to our family, friends, colleagues/fellow workers, employer and even our fellow brethren.

The need for striving for everyday Perfection (the process of being excellent) in our service of the propagation of God’s Kingdom should be frontline. It should be prominent in our relationship and dealings with God.

A life that is going through/has gone through God’s process or ‘formula’s begins to look more like God, and this goes a long way to showing others (especially unbelievers) the light of salvation and the essence of the Gospel.
